The Winnipeg Jets are back in action just 24 hours after they played last night as they head to Montreal to face off against the Canadiens. The opening puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. central time.

Yesterday evening, the Jets ended their three-game losing streak by beating the Senators 4-3 in Ottawa. With that win, Winnipeg now is seven points behind the Dallas Stars for the second Western Conference Wild Card playoff spot with nine games remaining in the season.

The Canadiens have been inconsistent since April started. The Canadiens have a 2-2-0 record this month and most recently lost to the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-2 on Saturday night.

This is the Winnipeg Jets first trip to Montreal since they were swept out of the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs

These sides met in the second round of the 2021 Stanley Cup Playoffs last season and the Jets were swept aside by the Canadiens en route to their run to the Finals.

As we all know a lot has changed since last summer and both of these sides sit outside of playoff position with the Canadiens already eliminated from contention and the Jets having a low probability of making the postseason.

Odds

Montreal has had the upper hand in recent matchups at the Bell Centre with Winnipeg. Including last postseason, the Canadiens have won their past four games on home ice against the Jets.

It will be interesting to see how the Jets respond after winning a close one-goal game last night, while Montreal has had a day of rest in between their games.
