The Winnipeg Jets were supposed to return to the Canada Life Centre tonight for a home game that breaks up two different road trips.
The Jets were scheduled to host the Seattle Kraken tonight, but the NHL has decided to postpone and reschedule the game.
The game is postponed due to the major blizzard that is hitting Manitoba today and is expected to stick around until Friday.
The Winnipeg Jets versus Seattle Kraken game is postponed
The NHL along with the Jets and Kraken have announced that the game will be made up on May 1, which is a day after the regular season was scheduled to end. Therefore, as of now, this game will be the only game around the NHL on the first day of May.
As mentioned above, this game was supposed to be the lone home game between a two-game road trip and a four-game road trip for the Jets.
The Jets started this trip with wins on back-to-back nights against the Ottawa Senators and Montreal Canadiens.
Now the Jets end this road trip by facing some of the top teams in the Eastern Conference. On Friday and Saturday, the Jets will head to Florida for a tough back-to-back against the Florida Panthers and Tampa Bay Lightning.
Then the Jets will head to New York to take on the Rangers on Tuesday and then finish the trip next Thursday versus the Carolina Hurricanes.
Out of the next four games for the Jets, all but one team has already clinched a spot in the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs. The Lightning are the lone unclinched team but they are on the verge of booking their ticket to the postseason any day.
After this trip, the Jets will have a four-game homestand to finish their 2021-2022 regular season.
