The Winnipeg Jets are in the Sunshine State as they begin a tough back-to-back against the Florida Franchises. Tonight the Jets face the Florida Panthers, before heading to Tampa tomorrow to take on the Lightning. The opening puck drop for tonight’s game is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. central time.

This game was supposed to start a four-game road trip for the Jets after playing two games on the road to start the week and then a scheduled home game on Wednesday.

Due to the blizzard that hit Manitoba, the Jets’ home matchup on Wednesday versus the Seattle Kraken was postponed until May 1 and now instead of the Jets playing six of seven on the road, they are on a six-game road trip.

The Jets started this trip extremely well with back-to-back wins over the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators, but tonight’s matchup will be no easy task for the Jets as they come up against the top team in the Eastern Conference.

The Winnipeg Jets will need their A-game tonight versus the Florida Panthers

The Jets face off against the Panthers who have yet to lose a game during the month of April. They are currently on an eight-game winning streak.

Florida has also been an extremely tough team to beat for away sides, the Panthers have an eight-game home winning streak (their last home loss was February 26) and they have a 31-6-0 record on home ice.

Odds

The Winnipeg Jets are listed as the underdogs in this one, courtesy of WynnBET.

Considering all that was mentioned above, there should be no surprise that Winnipeg is the underdog for this game.

The Panthers have the most home wins out of any team in the NHL, are on the NHL’s joint-longest winning streak, and have not lost a home game in nearly two months.

This is the second and final time these sides will meet during the 2021-2022 regular season. Back in January, the Panthers beat the Jets 5-3 at the Canada Life Centre.
