The Winnipeg Jets are finally back on home ice at the Canada Life Centre after their six-game road trip. Tonight the Jets begin a four-game homestand to close out the 2021-2022 regular season with a matchup tonight against the Colorado Avalanche. The opening puck drop is set for 6:00 p.m. central time.

As you can probably tell by our title to this game preview, the Jets are winless against the Avalanche this regular season and have only picked up one point in the prior three meetings with Colorado.

The Avalanche are the best team in the Western Conference and are one of the front runners to win the Stanley Cup. During this season series, the Avalanche have outscored the Jets 18-8 and have outshot them in two of the three games.

The Winnipeg Jets are also looking to break a four-game losing streak as they come up against the Western Conference leaders

The Jets started their six-game road trip well by beating the Montreal Canadiens and Ottawa Senators but then lost their next four games all against teams that have clinched a postseason playoff berth (Panters, Lightning, Rangers, and Hurricanes).

But the Jets are not the only team on a losing streak in this matchup. The Avalanche come into this game on a season-high three-game losing streak. Before this three-game skid, the Avlanache were on a nine-game winning streak.

The top teams around the NHL have had an immense amount of success when facing the Jets this season and this will be tested again tonight as the Jets come up against one of the league’s best.
