The Winnipeg Jets continued their four-game homestand to close out the 2021-2022 regular season with a matchup against the Philadelphia Flyers, who will also not be making the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Dave Lowry and the Jets coaching staff only made one major lineup change for this clash as they gave Eric Comrie the start after Connor Hellebuyck played in the Jets’ last game on Sunday.

This move paid off as Comrie stopped all 35 shots he faced en route to picking up his first career NHL shutout.

Eric Comrie played outstanding and earned the shutout as the Winnipeg Jets beat the Philadelphia Flyers 4-0

Besides the outstanding goaltending from Comrie last night, one of the main reasons why the Jets won was their special teams performance.

The Jets’ first two goals came on the powerplay courtesy of Pierre-Luc Dubois just over five minutes into the first period and then Nikolaj Ehlers in the opening half of the second period.

Blake Wheeler then scored on a great two-on-one passing play with Ehlers in the closing stages of the second to put the Jets up 3-0.

Kyle Connor then scored his forty-sixth goal of the season into an empty net during the final minute of the game to extend the Jets’ lead to 4-0.

The Jets’ penalty kill also deserves an immense amount of credit for the win. They killed all four penalties the Jets took and held the Flyers to 10 shots on those powerplays.

In all, this was a complete team victory from the Jets. Everyone stepped up from the powerplay to the penalty kill to the goaltending to give the Jets their first shutout victory since March 22.
