Although the Winnipeg Jets missed out on the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs, Jets supporters will have a chance to see some of their top prospects in playoff action.

The Jets AHL affiliate, the Manitoba Moose had a great 2021-2022 regular season and made the Calder Cup Playoffs for the first time since the 2017-2018 season.

The Moose had a fantastic season finishing with a 41-24-5 record to give them the second seed in the Central Division and give them a direct spot in the Central Division semifinals.

The Manitoba Moose (The Winnipeg Jets AHL affiliate) will come up against the Milwaukee Admirals in a best-of-five series in the Calder Cup Playoffs

This matchup pits the second seed in the Central, the Moose, versus the third seed and the Nashville Predators affiliate, the Admirals.

Since the Moose are the higher-seeded team, they have home ice in this series, but the AHL does the schedule differently than most would think.

The Moose will head to Milwaukee for the first two games of this series on Friday and Saturday then they will host game three in Manitoba on Wednesday. The If necessary games (games four and five) will also be on home ice for the Moose with game four scheduled for Friday, May 12, and game five scheduled for Sunday afternoon, May 15.

The Regular Season Meetings

Manitoba and Milwaukee are extremely familiar with each other as they met a total of 12 times during the regular season.

The Moose won the regular season series with a 7-4-1 record versus Milwaukee. Three of the 12 games went into overtime, with Manitoba winning two of those three extra-time contests.

Manitoba had a 5-3-0 record on home ice versus Milwaukee while amassing a 2-1-1 record in the four games that were played in Milwaukee.

Manitoba Moose Roster News

On Monday, the Jets announced that both Morgan Barron and Dylan Samberg have been reassigned to the Moose for their playoff run. Both players had a great end to the season with the Jets and will be looking to build on these performances with a run to the Calder Cup.

2021 offseason acquisitions, Mikey Eyssimont and Jeff Malott have been the leading scorers for the Moose this season. Eyssimont had 18 goals and 24 assists in 58 games played, while Malott had 23 goals and 18 assists in 62 games.

Mikhail Berdin will most likely be the starting goaltender for the Moose during this series. He played in 32 regular season contests and had a 19-10-3 record with a 2.40 goals against average and .902 save percentage. The twenty-four-year-old also had 4 shutouts during the season.
