The Winnipeg Jets hit the road for their first road trip of the 2022-2023 season. This road trip will be for three games and begins this evening in Dallas.
Tonight the Jets face off against the Dallas Stars at the American Airlines Center. The game is scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m. central time.
The Jets opened their season on Friday night at home versus the New York Rangers. The game was tied 1-1 in the final five minutes of regulation and the Jets scored three unanswered goals to win 4-1 and start their season off with a win.
Dallas has also been perfect to start this regular season. On Thursday and Saturday, the Stars played a home-and-home series against the Nashville Predators.
The Stars won their season opener in Nashville by a 4-1 scoreline and followed that up by winning their home opener in a commanding 5-1 fashion.
Newly appointed Winnipeg Jets head coach, Rick Bowness will not be making his return to Dallas tonight
When Rick Bowness was named as the new Jets head coach, one intriguing matchup on the schedule was tonight’s game because Bowness joined the Jets after coaching in Dallas the past three seasons.
Unfortunately hours before the Jets’ season opening game, Bowness tested positive for covid-19 and was ruled out from making his debut. Bowness will also be missing this game against his former team.
Scott Arniel will again be the Jets’ interim bench boss for this game. There is a chance Bowness could return and make his Jets head coaching debut on Wednesday when the Jets play against the Colorado Avalanche.
Because Bowness departed the Stars, Dallas also had a vacant head coach position this offseason and they named Peter DeBoer as their head coach.
The Winnipeg Jets Lineup
The Jets are not expected to make any changes to their winning lineup from Friday night. Connor Hellebuyck is projected to start in goal for the Jets.
