The Winnipeg Jets are just nine games into the 2022-2023 regular season and they have just placed their second player on the injured reserve.

This morning, the Jets announced that they have retroactively placed defenseman, Logan Stanley on the injured reserve as of October 25.

The six-foot-seven-inch defenseman blocked a shot in Winnipeg’s 4-0 shutout win over the St. Louis Blues on Monday, October 24.

It was revealed that Stanley suffered a foot fracture as a result of blocking the shot and Rick Bowness has stated that the former first-round pick will be sidelined for a couple of weeks.

The Winnipeg Jets have moved Logan Stanley to the injured reserve and recalled Jansen Harkins from the AHL

Since Logan Stanley was placed on the IR, and it opened up a roster spot on the Jets’ roster, the Jets recalled Jansen Harkins on an emergency basis from the Manitoba Moose.

Harkins returns to the Jets after not making the Jets’ 2022 opening night roster out of the preseason and training camp. The Jets did take a chance with sending Harkins to the Moose before the season began because he had to clear waivers. Fortunately for the Jets, Harkins cleared waivers and joined the Moose to begin the 2022-2023 season.

The twenty-five-year-old has led the line for Manitoba to start this season. Harkins appeared in six of the Moose’s seven games at the start of this season and led the team with five goals and nine points. Also, Harkins had four assists and a plus-five plus/minus in that timeframe.

Harkins placed the entire 2021-2022 season with the Jets and played in 77 games and had seven goals and six assists. He primarily played in a bottom-six role during last season.

Harkins could make his Jets season debut when the Winnipeg Jets begin a three-game homestand tomorrow with a matchup against the Montreal Canadiens.
