The Winnipeg Jets finished their three-game homestand with an intriguing against the Carolina Hurricanes last night.

The Jets started this game extremely well. Pierre-Luc Dubois opened the scoring in the first period on a breakaway. Then in the second period, Mikey Eyssimont scored his first NHL goal to increase the Jets’ lead to two goals.

Shortly into the third period, Josh Morrissey scored to give the Jets a 3-0 lead. All seemed to be going extremely well for Winnipeg as they were en route to an impressive win over one of the Eastern Conference’s best teams.

But with five minutes remaining in the contest, the Hurricanes pulled their goaltender and Jacob Slavin scored to make the game 3-1.

On the Hurricanes’ next attack, Rod Brind’Amour pulled Pyotr Kochetkov again, and again, the Hurricanes scored to make it a one-goal game with nearly three minutes remaining.

In the final minute of the game, the Hurricanes pulled the goal for the third time and Martin Necas scored to tie the game and complete the comeback for Carolina.

Here is how Twitter reacted to the comeback:

Most Jets supporters could not believe what just happened and Jets White Out contributor, Brian Finlayson, summed it up best:

This tweet also has the same reaction and I would guess a lot of Jets supporters said the same thing:

Even Jets’ goaltender, David Rittich wouldn’t share what he thought after Carolina tied the game:

The Jets still win it in overtime

Fortunately for the Jets, they were able to win the game as Josh Morrissey scored the overtime winner on a breakaway:

This tweet sums the Jets’ win up well. Although the Jets lost their lead but won in overtime, it was an extremely entertaining way to end the game:

This next reaction is also along the same lines as it was an extremely entertaining finish:

This was definitely a roller-coaster of emotions for the Winnipeg Jets fans. From seemingly having this game in the bag to blowing the three-goal lead with under five minutes remaining to winning it in overtime, it was a crazy night.
