The Winnipeg Jets kick off their December schedule tonight as they continue their four-game homestand. This evening the Jets host the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Canada Life Centre. The opening puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m. central time (8:00 p.m. eastern time).

The Jets finished December off in fantastic fashion. The Jets won their last three games of the month, all against Central Division opponents. They started this streak by beating the Stars 5-4 in overtime, then they crushed the Blackhawks 7-2, and finally on Tuesday the Jets shutout the Avalanche 5-0.

Winnipeg now sits second in the Central as they are three points behind the Dallas Stars. Fortunately, the Jets have three games in hand on the Stars. It is worth noting that the Jets have the highest winning percentage in the division.

The Winnipeg Jets look to continue this win streak as they host the struggling, Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets are the basement dwellers of the Metropolitan Division and Eastern Conference. They have only amassed 16 points from 21 games.

Also, Columbus is on a three-game losing streak. They have lost their last three games and four out of their last five, which were all home games.

The Blue Jackets have struggled on the road and against Central Division opponents. Columbus has a 1-4-1 record on the road and a 1-4-0 record against the Central.

On the other hand, the Jets have a great home ice record. They have an 8-2-0 record at the Canada Life Centre. It is also worth noting that the Jets have only played three games against the Metro and post a 2-1 record in those games.
