As the 2026-27 season grows closer, the Winnipeg Jets are setting their expectations higher than in previous seasons. After a disappointing exit last season, the team as a whole looks to regroup and come back stronger and hungrier. This could also mean good things for individuals looking to hit personal milestones this season. While the Stanley Cup is the ultimate goal, some players would like to accomplish personal goals along the way. We look at a few players who are close to achieving goals this season.

Jets forwards who can hit milestones

Forward Kyle Connor in indeed close to hitting a few this season. A pure goal scorer, he needs just 27 more to hit 350 for his career. His offensive production is also a target as he needs only 26 points to reach 700 and must play in five games this season to reach 700 games for his career. Mark Scheifele is another consistent Jet who is also coming up on some milestones. He needs 38 games for for an impressive 1,000 for his career, is only 28 goals away from 400 for his career, and is 93 points away from an incredible 1,000 career points.

Another forward looking at milestones in the season ahead is Nino Niederreiter. Currently entering his fourth full season in Winnipeg, he is only two goals shy of 250 career goals and is one single points away from 500 in his career. Barring something devastating, he should reach those rather easily this season.

Defensemen and goalies have them too

Defenseman Neal Pionk, formally of the New York Rangers, is closing in on 300 career points and is 32 points shy of that mark. He could reach that in the second half of the season. Defenseman Josh Morrissey has a couple of personal milestones he will be chasing this season. He is 61 games away from 800 games in his NHL career. He is also 72 points away from 500 points in the NHL, and that milestone may be in reach this season with his offensive capabilities.

Goaltender Connor Hellebuyck, still being floated around in trade rumors, has a couple he could obtain this season also. These are very well within his reach and it all depends on his health. He is only five wins away from 250 wins in his outstanding career, all of it spent in Winnipeg. If he gets to 350 wins this season, this would put him close to the top 25 all-time in NHL history. Another milestone he could reach this season is the shutout variety. Hellebuyck only needs five of those also for 50 in his career, which would tie him with Chris Osgood for 33rd all-time.

If we sit back and look at this piece and all of the history that could be made for these players, this could be an amazing season for the players on a personal level. Again, the Stanley Cup is the only prize the players actually care about and we know that. However, if these players can look back at their career and see what they accomplished because of their own skill set they would be amazed. Yes, the Stanley Cup is the main priority. We should also celebrate these players if they accomplish any of these goals this season because there are players who do not get this chance to do what they do.
