Spacek is new to the North American game, Spacek has been playing in the HC Pardubice system which is one of the top producers of NHL and North American prospects. Spacek has played for the Pardubice U16, U18, u20 and HC Pardubice Elite A League.

Spacek had a number of options on the table for his future after being selected in 2014 #51 overall by the Medicine Hat Tigers in the CHL Import Draft, Spacek was also selected in the fourth round of the KHL entry draft by Dinamo Minsk and decided not to take either offer and return to the Pardubice system and re-enter himself into the CHL Import Draft where Spacek was reselected 47th overall by the Red Deer Rebels and Spacek decided to come to North America.
Spacek didn’t take long to become accustom to the North American game currently in first Western Hockey League season Spacek and has played 59 games and has 17 goals 34 assists and 51 points. Spacek has been able to keep his nose clean as well with only 18 PIM.
[pull quote] “Michael is a smart player above average in hockey sense and can read the ice as well as anybody already playing in the game, he will be an offensive powerhouse in the next two seasons” [/pullquote]
Spacek is a perfect fit of the Winnipeg Jets at 5’11 and 187 lbs he is smaller but that fits in the Jets lineup, they have a few really big players but they are known for being on the smaller side, Spacek will play another season in the Western Hockey League to ensure that his current stats aren’t beginners luck but will have a great training camp for the Jets and should have an impressive Prospects Tournament.
In talking with a league scout this was said about Spacek “Michael is a smart player above average in hockey sense and can read the ice as well as anybody already playing in the game, he will be an offensive powerhouse in the next two seasons”.
Michael is a smart smooth skater that and get himself out of trouble just by using his skating skills, Spacek would be the best full out skater on the Jets roster if he were on the team at this moment, and is said to be one of if not the best skater in the WHL.
Spacek is a great player and that has shown through out his entire career in the Czech leagues and again in the WHL, Spacek will be an important piece in the Czech world juniors again in 2016 in Toronto.
Spacek of course will need to add some weight and some maturity to his game, even with all the pluses Spacek still makes rookie mistakes and still needs to work more on the transition side of his game, once Spacek gets that under control he will make the Jets roster and make the Winnipeg Jets a much better team.
