After having the past weekend off, the Winnipeg Jets are back in action tonight as they face off against the Ottawa Senators. Puck drop is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. central time.

Originally this game was scheduled for May 7 and the Jets were supposed to have an off day today while in the midst of a two-game series against the Canucks.

But, the Cancuks were forced to postpone their games with the Jets due to having 14 players on the COVID-19 protocol list. So the NHL rearranged the schedule and the Senators are in Winnipeg for just this lone game tonight. You can read more about the postponement and schedule change here.

The Winnipeg Jets are trying to break their losing streak before hitting the road for five straight games.

The Jets are looking to get back on track after getting swept in a two-game series by the Toronto Maple Leafs on home ice. Winnipeg lost the first game of the series 3-1 on Wednesday and then lost on Friday in a shootout.

Winnipeg has fallen to third place in the North Division and have yet to lose three straight games this season.

On the other hand, Ottawa is coming into tonight after beating the Canadiens 6-3 in Montreal on Saturday night. The Senators have played well as of late, posting a 3-1-1 record in their last five games.

Odds

The Action network lists the Jets as the favorites in tonight’s matchup.

Projected Lineups

Winnipeg has not made any changes to their lineup in the past thirteen games and there is no indication that they will be making any changes for tonight’s game.

There is a chance that Paul Maurice will give Laurent Brossoit the start after Connor Hellebuyck has started the past three games. This decision will be indicated closer to game time.

The Jets are projected to lineup like this:

Connor-Scheifele-Ehlers
Stastny-Dubois-Wheeler
Copp-Lowry-Appleton
Perreault-Thompson-Lewis

Morrissey-Poolman
Forbort-Pionk
Stanley-DeMelo

Brossoit (Hellebuyck)

After picking up a win in their last game and still with a handful of players out of the lineup due to injuries, Ottawa is expected to keep their lineup the same from Saturday evening.

Former Jet, Anton Forberg is projected to get the start in goal after picking up the win and making 24 saves on 26 shots on Saturday.

The Senators are expected to lineup like this:

Tkachuk-Norris-Paul
Stutzle-Tierney-Batherson
Dzingel-Bishop-Brown
Formenton-Anisimov-Dadonov

Chabot-Zaitsev
Reilly-Zub
Brannstrom-Brown

Forsberg (Gustavsson)
