Tonight, the Winnipeg Jets will play their last away game of the 2021 regular season as they take on the Calgary Flames at the Scotiabank Saddledome. Puck drop is scheduled for 8:30 p.m. central time.
The Jets have played well on the road throughout this season and currently have a 16-10-1 record away from Bell MTS Place.
Although the Jets have a good record away from home, they have been struggling as of late as they have not won a game or picked up any points since April 15.
The Winnipeg Jets look to break the longest current NHL losing streak with a win against the Calgary Flames
Winnipeg is currently on a seven-game losing streak. They dropped the first five games of this streak on home ice and most recently lost the last two on the road.
The last time out, the Jets faced off against the Senators in Ottawa on Monday night. Winnipeg outshot Ottawa 29-18 but went zero-for-six on the powerplay en route to a 2-1 regulation loss. You can read our sites’ recap of the game by clicking here or the “Related Story” link below this paragraph.
The Jets now currently sit in a tie for third place with the Montreal Canadiens in the North Division with the Jets currently holding the tiebreaker. Montreal will be in action tonight as they match up against Ottawa.
On the other hand, the Flames have been off since Saturday night when they lost to the Oilers 4-1. Calgary has played well in their past five games, with a 3-2-0 record.
Odds
The Jets are listed as the underdogs in tonight’s matchup. Considering the run that the Jets have been on, it is no surprise they are the underdogs.
Throughout this season, the Jets and Flames have played many tight games with five of the eight prior games between these sides decided by one goal.
I expect tonight to be another close contest between Winnipeg and Calgary as they face off against each other for the final time this season.

Projected Lineups
The Jets had the day off yesterday as they went from Ottawa to Calgary and they did not practice nor did they have any media availability. Therefore, there were no insights from Paul Maurice on if the Jets were going to make any lineup changes for tonight’s game.
Last game, Logan Stanley came into the lineup for Jordie Benn and Adam Lowry returned to the lineup for the first time since his injury and Jansen Harkins was scratched.
The Jets’ coaching staff have not been one to make many lineup changes during this year. With that being said, expect Winnipeg to have an extremely similar lineup to Tuesday night.
There is a chance we could see Jansen Harkins replace Kristian Vesalinen, but that may be the only move the Jets make.
Connor Hellebuyck is projected to come back in and get the start in goal after the Jets gave Laurent Brossoit the start on Monday and gave Hellebuyck some much needed rest.
The Jets are projected to lineup like this:
Connor-Scheifele-Wheeler
Stastny-Dubois-Copp
Perreault-Lowry-Appleton
Harkins-Thompson-Lewis
Morrissey-Poolman
Forbort-Pionk
Stanley-DeMelo
Hellebuyck (Brossoit)
Just like the Jets, Calgary is expected to go with a similar lineup to what they had Saturday night in their loss to Edmonton.
The Flames will be without Josh Lievo, who is on the Covid-19 Protocol list, and Noah Hanifin, who is out for the rest of the season with a shoulder injury.
Jacob Markstrom is expected to start in net for the Flames. Markstrom has an 18-18-2 record with a 2.67 goals against average and a .906 save percentage.
The Flames are expected to lineup like this:
Gaudreau-Lindholm-Tkachuk
Mangiapane-Monahan-Ritchie
Lucic-Backlund-Dube
Nordstrom-Ryan-Robinson
Giordano-Tanev
Nesterov-Andersson
Valimaki-Stone
Markstrom (Domingue)
