Winnipeg Jets Release Seattle Kraken Expansion Draft Protected List
As all eyes are starting to focus on the Seattle Kraken’s Expansion Draft for Wednesday evening, the Winnipeg Jets along with each NHL franchise had to submit their protected list for the draft.
Players on the protected list cannot be selected by Seattle on Wednesday, while players that are not protected can be selected in the draft. Teams had options on who they could protect.
The NHL allowed franchises to protect either seven forwards, three defensemen, and one goaltender or eight skaters and one goaltender. You can find all of the rules for the draft by clicking here.
The Winnipeg Jets have protected a total of eleven players
Below we have listed by position, the players that the Jets have named to their protected list:
Forwards (7)- Adam Lowry, Andrew Copp, Blake Wheeler, Kyle Connor, Mark Scheifele, Nikolaj Ehlers, Pierre-Luc Dubois
Defensemen (3)- Josh Morrissey, Logan Stanley, Neal Pionk
Goaltender (1)- Connor Hellebuyck
This means that there will be a few key names that will be available for Seattle to select in their draft including Mason Appleton, Sami Niku, Nathan Beaulieu, Dylan DeMelo, and Mikhail Berdin.

Seattle is only days away from making their picks in the expansion draft. The draft is scheduled for Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m. central time and you can watch this must-watch event on ESPN2 in the United States and on SN, SNO, and TVAS in Canada.
