The Winnipeg Jets are back from their holiday break as they will have their first practice tonight since the layoff and they begin to gear up for the final 52 games of the 2021-2022 regular season.

On December 23, the Jets added two forwards and one support staff member to the COVID-19 protocol. Those players that were added to the protocol are Andrew Copp and Kristian Vesalianen.

Because of this loss and the fact that these players will be out for 10-days, we knew the Jets would be recalling players to fill the void. Finally earlier today, Winnipeg announced who they called up from the Manitoba Moose.

C.J. Suess and Kristian Reichel will be joining the Winnipeg Jets on an emergency recall

Suess and Reichel are projected to be in the lineup when the Jets play in their next game. Winnipeg’s next game is scheduled for Wednesday night (December 29) at the Canada Life Centre against the Chicago Blackhawks.

Both of these players played in the first game of the season in the Jets’ final game before the break on December 19. The Jets were victorious in this game as they beat the St. Louis Blues 4-2. This game was also Reichel’s NHL debut.

So far this season in the AHL, Suess has played in 23 games and has four goals, eight assists, and a +4 plus/minus, while Reichel has five goals, seven assists, and a +1 plus/minus in 25 games played.

Although it will be a couple of more days until the Jets are back playing games, you will be able to watch some Jets prospects play today. The Winnipeg Jets have four prospects competing at the 2022 World Junior Championship and they are all in action this afternoon and tonight.
