The Winnipeg Jets were originally supposed to return from the holiday break on December 27, but that game at the Canada Life Centre against the Minnesota Wild was postponed. Then the Jets’ next matchup was supposed to be today (December 29) on home ice versus the Chicago Blackhawks, but again, that game was postponed.
Finally, the Jets were supposed to begin a four-game road trip with a New Year’s Eve matchup in Calgary against the Flames, but that contest was postponed.
So as of right now, Winnipeg is scheduled to return on January 2 with a matchup in Las Vegas against the Golden Knights, but that is not it for the postponements of Jets games.
The Winnipeg Jets first two home games in January have been postponed
The NHL has announced that the Jets’ home games on January 8 and 10 versus the Wild and Seattle Kraken have been postponed “because of attendance restrictions in cities in Canada.”
They now puts the Jets’ total of postponed games to seven and the NHL has yet to announce when these games will be rescheduled for. There is now a huge block open in February in the schedule due to the fact that NHL players will no longer be participating in the 2022 Olympics.
Although we have to wait until the new year for the Jets to return to game action, you will be able to watch some of their top prospects play during that time.
The Jets have four prospects competing at the 2022 World Junior Championship and they will all be playing today. You can find out more about who is featuring at the 2022 WJC and a preview of today’s games by clicking the link here or the “NEXT” link at the bottom of this article.
