The Winnipeg Jets Place Three Players in the COVID Protocol
The Winnipeg Jets have returned from the All-Star Break and hit the ice this afternoon as they gear up for an important game against the Minnesota Wild at the Canada Life Centre tomorrow night.
Before the Jets started to practice today, they announced that they have placed two forwards and one defenseman in the COVID-19 protocol and subsequently recalled four players from the Manitoba Moose.
The Winnipeg Jets have placed Pierre-Luc Dubois, Neal Pionk, and Austin Poganski in the COVID Protocol
This means that Dubois, Pionk, and Poganski will be in the protocol for at least the next five days. This news comes at an unideal time for the Jets considering the important roles both Dubois and Pionk play and the fact that these next handful of games for Winnipeg are extremely important for them to climb up the standings as they are all against Central Division foes.
In response to these additions to the Protocol, the Jets have added three defensemen and one forward from the Moose. Those four players are Ville Heinola, Declan Chisholm, Johnathan Kovacevic, and Kristian Reichel.
Reichel has appeared in five games this season which is the most among this group of recalled players. He has one goal and a minus-one plus/minus in those games.
During the 2021-2022 season, Heinola has played in four games with the Jets and has zero points and a minus-four plus/minus, while Kovacevic has played in three games and Chisholm has appeared in two. Neither Kovacevic nor Chisholm have registered a point this year but they have both impressed in their limited time with the Jets and both have plus-one ratings.
Stay tuned to our site tomorrow morning for a game preview of the Jets vs Wild game which has all you need to know for the game including odds and where to catch the game.
