Take a look at teams with tons of past success, for example, the Chicago Blackhawks. They have some of the best players in the game, and have an unbelievable top 6 forward group. What they don’t have now is depth like the Winnipeg Jets do. In today’s game, depth is a necessity.

The Winnipeg Jets haven’t really gone anywhere in the postseason. Whether they make it or not, it’s never a long run. What were two problems we always had those years? One, we barely had any depth, and two, we had injury problems. We have finally solved our depth issue, but we are still having injury problems. Clearly our depth is really good if we have both of Armia and Perreault on our fourth line.

Having a fourth line who can play over 11 minutes is unheard of. Generally they play four to five minutes but that’s not the case for us. We have a fourth line who can produce just as much as any other line. They can be relied on, which is a major contributor to the Jets success.

Perreault used to be a second line Jet. He was always a great player and was a great free agency pickup. Now he’s on the bottom line, not because he’s bad. He’s there because the Winnipeg Jets have gotten really good.

Hendricks has always just been a depth player everywhere he’s played. That doesn’t mean he’s not playing amazing. He’s scoring and putting up more assists than you could imagine for a guy like him. He’s an older guy, and he’s also a really tough guy.

Joel Armia is a young, and exciting player to watch. He’s never been on a top line, but that means nothing. We wouldn’t be able to trade this guy without a substantial asset in return, and it would be pointless. He’s one of the most household Jets names. Armia has great puck handling skills, and his checking ability is exceptional. He’s a very rare breed of a player.

If we’re able to stay healthy, we can be an unbelievable team. As long as we don’t have to break up our lines due to injuries, the end of this season should be fun to watch.
