Well, the Jets White Out fantasy team is…there. The Winnipeg Jets got off to a sluggish start, and hey, so did we. There’s still time. But almost a month in, this team is in last place.
The Winnipeg Jets have started to rebound, and have won their last two. This six game homestand (two to go, one against St. Louis and one against Toronto) is the longest of their season.
So, you gotta make it count. And so far, they have. They’re 4-0-1 at home, and they were the best home team in the NHL last season. Things could be worse, but we all know the team could play better, too. They’re not yet firing on all cylinders.
As their players find their skates and started to get things going, the fantasy team has…yet to do so. We’re in last place, baby, and it’s not even close.
Let’s start with the issues, shall we? We’re last in goals. Not great. Last in average TOI, last in GAA and save percentage. Oh, and second to last in wins. First in powerplay points somehow.

Look, this is my first time playing rotisserie fantasy hockey. It’s a different world. I’ll get used to it. It may be too late, but hey, we’ll get em next year?
We’re tied for second in assists, too. There’s something to look at. Patrik Laine, Nikolaj Ehlers and Mark Scheifele all need to pick it up, and I’m confident that they will. Laine should be my top goal scorer. Kyle Connor is, at 4.
Connor is tied with John Carlson, Morgan Reilly and Phil Kessel. I also just picked up Mark Stone for Matt Murray, since I don’t need three goalies (I have Semyon Varlamov and Connor Hellebuyck).
I also picked up the injured Elias Pettersson, but whatever. Since only rate stats count for goaltenders, I figured I’d siphon as much playing time as I can up front. Counting stats are important. I need goals to get back in this thing.
Morgan Reilly was a great pickup, with 4 goals and 10 assists with a +4 and 6 PPP. I have the five Jets going tonight, so hopefully they pick it up. Wherever the Winnipeg Jets go, I go too.
I guess that’s not an ideal fantasy strategy, but our team is based on the Winnipeg Jets. I better ride it out. Plus, those guys are all high-end fantasy players (with the exception of Ehlers, who is on my chopping block).
I just wanted to pop in, let you all know I’m embarrassing you and a let down. I should’ve let Adam @weenspleen take over and handle the day-to-day. But here we are, I’m doing my best. But I could’ve done better.
