When looking at the Winnipeg Jets schedule for the upcoming season, there were a couple of things that caught my attention. One of the biggest things was who the Jets will face off against ten times this season.
In years prior, teams would play at most four of five times against each other in a season, but because of the divisional realignment due to the pandemic, the Jets will only be playing their new divisional opponents this year and will be playing them nine or ten times each.

The Jets performed well against Ottawa last season. Winnipeg won both contests between the teams in 2019-2020, but there will be a new-look Senators this year. The Sens may have lost Anthony Duclair to free agency, but they have made some huge acquisitions this offseason.
So far this offseason, the Senators have acquired Derek Stepan, Micheal Haley, Alex Galchenyuk, Evgenii Dadonov, Logan Shaw, Austin Watson, and Matt Murray. On paper, they will definitely be a much tougher team to face than the Senators of last year.
It is crucial that the Jets perform well against the Senators in 2021. There are a huge 20 points available in these ten contests, which could be the ultimate difference in making the Stanley Cup Playoffs or missing out on them.
